Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren says he wants to use as many players as possible in friendly games ahead of this year’s Women’s AFCON.
This year’s Women’s AFCON takes place from July 5 to July 26 in Morocco with 12 nations set to compete. Ghana is in Group C with defending champions South Africa, Mali and Tanzania.
In an interview with GFA media after the Black Queens beat Benin 4-2 to win the second of its three friendly ties before the tournament, Bjorkegren underlined the importance of using as many players as possible in such games.
“Of course you want to rotate a little bit because we hope it’s going to be a long tournament with many games so we can’t just rely on 11 players.”

“We need to have more players that are ready to play and we have a good group so I want to use as many [players] as possible” Bjorkegren said.
Ghana beat Malawi 3-1 in its first friendly and take on Nigeria on June 29. Scroll down to watch video.
