Ghana Black Queens midfielder Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has stated that she takes responsibility for the goal Ghana conceded in its important win over Tanzania.
The Black Queens hammered Tanzania 4-1 in its final Group C tie at the ongoing CAF Women’s AFCON in Morocco to progress to the quarterfinals.
Ghana take on Algeria in the quarterfinals on Algeria on Saturday, July 19 at 16:00 GMT; it is Ghana’s first quarterfinal appearance at the AFCON since 2016.
Speaking in a post-game interview, Boye-Hlorkah, who won the Woman of the Match Award, stated that she takes responsibility for the consolation goal Tanzania scored but expressed how proud she was about the win.
“I’m so proud of the girls. They had my back out there today…we went all out, we conceded the goal which I take responsibility for but then. We weren’t going to win the game without being a team and that’s what we did. So I’m so proud of the girls, I’m so proud of Ghana and I’m just proud to be part of it” she said.
