Ghana lost 2-0 to South Africa in its opening game at the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON in Morocco and the teams will face off again in the bronze medal game on Friday, July 25 at 19:00 GMT.

Ahead of the repeat game, Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has stated that his team is a better unit than they were in the first game.

Speaking in a pre-game interview, Bjorkegren stated that the team has exceeded expectations and is a better team since losing to South Africa in its first game in the tournament.

“Our first game we played South Africa…I think it was a close game. We have been playing better and better and I think that’s the strength in this group. The future is really bright for us and the future is coming fast so I think we are already a better team now than we were a few weeks ago” Bjorkegren said.
