Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture emerge winners in Inter Ministerial Football Competition [VIDEO]

Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Ablakwa (in suit) with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Men's Football Team at 2025 Inter Ministerial Games

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Food and Agriculture have emerged as winners of the 2025 Inter Ministerial Football Competition.

The Ministry of Agriculture topped the female category while Controller and Accountant General Department and Ministry of Gender finished second and third respectively.

In the men’s category, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs beat the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition 7-6 on penalties to clinch first place; Public Works Department finished third.

The competition formed part of activities to mark this year’s Civil Service Celebration Week and was graced by several dignitaries including the Head of Ghana’s Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh and Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

In his speech congratulating the men’s winning team, the Minister of Foreign Affairs celebrated the team and delivered a promise stating, “we shall present a special package to our winning team so I want to congratulate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for emerging victorious”.

“We have a special package for you !”

On his part, Dr. Aggrey-Darkoh said, “The support, the participation, the resilience, the can do spirit, I am overwhelmed. What it means is that if we are committed, we will change the fortunes of this country. I am happy that we have achieved this feat, it can only get better but this has been the best [edition] thus far.”

Ghana Civil Service Week Celebration Football Final.
