The University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate on Thursday morning held a press conference at 9:30 AM to officially preview the grand finale of the UG Corporate Football League.
Held at the Directorate’s conference room, the event provided key updates and outlined final arrangements ahead of the much-anticipated climax to the 19-week tournament.
In attendance were Dr. Austin Luguterah, Director of Sports at the University of Ghana; Yaw Sakyi Afari, CEO of RITE Sports, producers of the league; Yakubu Alfa Suleiman, Director of Operations at Corporate Sports Ghana, as well as other key stakeholders.

Yaw Sakyi Afari gave an overview of preparations and logistics, while also highlighting entertainment plans for the event, which kicks off on Friday, July 25, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
The day will open with a third-place clash between the National Petroleum Commission and the Ghana Armed Forces Officers’ Sports Club.

The main final will see Union Ghana square off against Ghana Civil Aviation in a highly anticipated showdown for the championship trophy.
“So, tomorrow we have only two games, the third-place game and then the final game. Each half will last 30 minutes with 15 15-minute break, and then that will be for both the third place and the final.
We’re going to have some speeches, short messages from our partners, from the Vice-Chancellor, the Minister for Sports and Recreation and CEOs of the various institutions we’ve extended an invitation to,” he said.
“So, just like we did the last time, we’ll count on the military, their friends, they’ll be playing, but they’ll come with extra men also to come and ensure the safety of everybody.
Of course, the police at Legon have been informed, we have our internal security,” Yaw Sakyi added.
The inaugural edition of the Corporate Football League kicked off with 18 teams, and after 19 weeks of thrilling competition, the grand finale is scheduled for Friday night under the floodlights at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
