Premier League side West Ham United have officially confirmed that veteran forward Michail Antonio will not be returning to the club after his contract expired at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Hammers chose not to renew his deal following a season heavily disrupted by injuries and a serious car accident that left the 34-year-old facing a long road to recovery.

Antonio, who represents Jamaica at international level, bows out after a decade of service in East London. He joined West Ham from Nottingham Forest in 2015 and became a fan favourite thanks to his powerful runs, tireless work ethic, and ability to score in crucial moments.

With 48 Premier League goals, he leaves as the club’s all-time top scorer in the competition.

His final season took a devastating turn in December 2024 when he was involved in a car crash that resulted in a broken leg.

Though the club reportedly proposed a short-term contract on reduced terms, Antonio was keen on long-term security as he approached the final years of his career  and talks eventually collapsed.
