American sprinter Kenny Bednarek says it’s just a matter of time before he wins gold in the Men’s 200 Metre event at a major championship.

Benarek won silver in a time 19.58 seconds to finish second at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan; fellow American sprinter and big rival Noah Lyles finished first.

Lyles won gold in a time of 19.52 seconds to win his fourth gold medal in the event in a row to match Usain Bolt’s record with an aim to break the record at the 2027 World event. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Jamaica’s Bryan Levell finished in third place but after bagging two silver medals at the Olympics and adding a second silver medal at the World Championships, Bednarek believes he will get the gold medal eventually.

“It was this close but it’s going to add more fuel for the next time I step on the tracks for the World Championships.”

“Like I said, it’s always been so close; it’s just a matter of time when I put things together” he said to NBC.
