Head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars Stephen Frimpong Manso has lamented his team’s mistakes in its debut CAF Champions League game that led to a loss.
Gold Stars lost 2-0 to Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the first of a two legged tie played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, September 20.
Kabylie scored the game’s opening goal in the 23rd minute through Mehdi Merghem and added a second deep in added on time to seal a 2-0 aggregate lead ahead of the second leg that is scheduled to be played on September 27 in Algeria.
Speaking after the loss in a post-game presser, Frimpong Manso stated that the reigning Ghana Premier League champions made too many mistakes in the contest.
“It was a difficult game. We made too many mistakes in the first half.”

“To be frank, playing against such a team, if you start to lose passes in the midfield you will always be found wanting so for me I think especially in the first half, we didn’t play well and also from midfield to attack, we were not supporting. That’s what I think made us lose by that margin” Frimpong Manso said.
