Triple gold medal winner at the 2025 World Athletics Championships, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, has announced that she won’t compete in this year’s ATHLOS.

Athlos is a track event that is eligible to only female professional athletes that commenced in 2024 where athletes compete in the 100 Metre, 200 Metre, 100 Metre Hurdles, 400 Metre, 800 Metre and 1500 Metre events.

This year’s edition won’t have Jefferson-Wooden compete after the American sprinter sparkled at this year’s World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

“What a year it’s been. From an undefeated season in the 100m, to etching my name in history as the first American to win triple gold at the same world championships…SOMEBODY PINCH ME!”

“After a lot of thought and consideration, my team and I have decided I won’t be competing at the ATHLOS Meet on October 10th. It wasn’t an easy decision but it was the right one” she stated.
