Head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, JJ Redick, says he is looking forward to the start of the 2025-2026 NBA season after signing a contract extension with the glamour basketball club.
Redick, who led the Lakers as a head coach for the first time last season, signed a four year, $32 million contract deal to extend his stay with the Lakers.
In his first season as head coach, Redick led the Lakers to 50 wins and 32 losses to finish third in the Western Conference standings. However, the Lakers lost [via 4-1 series loss] to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs.
Speaking at a season opening presser in the presence of Lakers President of Basketball Operations, Rob Pelinka, Redick talked about his extension stating,
“I think there’s always pressure with the Lakers.”

“You come into this building every day, and you’re constantly reminded of what Lakers excellent is. That doesn’t change, for me at least, year to year. It’s constant. It’s no different year to year or day to day” Redick said to Lakers media.

The Lakers, led by LeBron James and Luka Doncic, will commence its 2025-2026 season on October 22 at 2:00 AM against the Golden State Warriors.
