10 months into his run as Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim, is yet to have Man United register back to back league game wins.
A 2-1 win over Chelsea in Week Five of the 2025-2026 English Premier League season was followed by a 3-1 loss to Brentford at the G-Tech Community Stadium and Mathijs De Ligt believes that players must take up responsibility for this.

“Of course, I mean it’s always easy to look to the manager. We can’t say the goals we conceded, or the chances we conceded, are because of what…you guys always talk about the system.”

“[We are] really disappointed because all week we were speaking about keeping the momentum going, getting another win under our belt.”

“We were quite unlucky also with some chances, but overall, it was not good enough. That’s a fact” De Ligt said according to ESPN.

Man United take on Sunderland next on Saturday, October 4.
