The Black Stars have received a major boost with the return of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros on October 8 and 12, 2025.

The Leicester City and Fit-again winger Issahaku is back in the squad after spending months on the sidelines with an ACL injury picked up during the AFCON qualifiers against Angola in Luanda.

The Leicester City forward has since returned to action, featuring in all of his club’s Championship matches this season and scoring twice.

Also making a comeback is defender Alidu Seidu, who missed several months following an ACL injury while playing for Rennes in the French Ligue 1.

The 24-year-old has already clocked three appearances since regaining full fitness, capping it off with a Man of the Match display in Rennes’ recent win over Nantes.

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has retained his place in the squad following a brilliant start to the season, having kept clean sheets in all of his club’s matches so far.

The in-form shot-stopper is tipped to start in goal for Ghana in both upcoming fixtures.

Also earning a spot is Medeama SC midfielder Prince Owusu, who has received his first senior national team call-up.

The 20-year-old has been outstanding in the Ghana Premier League and now gets the opportunity to line up alongside established midfielders such as Thomas Partey and Kwasi Sibo.

With Ghana set to wrap up their World Cup qualifying campaign in October, both Issahaku and Seidu’s return adds depth and experience to Otto Addo’s squad as they target a strong finish.
