The bus carrying members of French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice has been attacked by fans of the club over the team’s poor run in recent weeks. Members of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team-the Black Stars-, midfielder Abdul Salis Samed and defender Kojo Oppong Peprah, were reportedly in the bus.

The attack took place at the entrance of the club’s training facility after Nice lost 3-1 to lowly ranked Lorient in the immediate past round of league games. Oppong Peprah played 61 minutes in the loss while Salis Samed played 68 minutes against Lorient.

The loss was Nice’s sixth in a row that has had the club tumble to 10th place in the league standings. The situation is equally dire on the European front as OGC Nice have lost all five games played in the Europa League.

After returning to the club’s training facility from the airport, 400 fans gathered at the entrance and attacked the bus carrying OGC Nice players and officials.

According to French media outlet RMC, Nice winger Jeremie Boga and striker Terem Moffi and the team’s Sporting Director Florian Maurice, “took a real beating.”

Salis Samed has been in and out of the Black Stars since playing for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup. He joined Nice from fellow Ligue 1 side RC Lens ahead of this season.
