Arsenal FC are alive in all four competitions in the 2025-2026 season after qualifying to compete in the semifinals of the Carabao Cup.

The Gunners needed a penalty shootout to beat London rivals Crystal Palace in the quarterfinals; Arsenal drew 1-1 with Palace at the end of regulation time but triumphed 9-8 on penalties.

Maxence Lacroix’s nightmare at the Emirates Stadium after conceding an own goal were compounded as his penalty kick attempt was saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga to hand Arsenal the win.

According to the club’s media, Arteta was pleased with the composure his team showed after conceding the equalizer in injury time and bagging to continue staying in title contention this season across all four fronts.

“What I loved as well is that even though, emotionally, it was tough to accept that, we were very controlled and really composed the way we took the penalties, it was really convincing.”

Arsenal’s Spanish manager Mikel Arteta embraces Arsenal’s Spanish goalkeeper #13 Kepa Arrizabalaga to congratulate him on saving the penalty of Crystal Palace’s French defender #05 Maxence Lacroix to win the English League Cup quarter-final football match

“The penalties were unbelievable. We are alive in all competitions, and the team is showing great signs of consistency, quality and togetherness” Arteta said.
