Ghana’s fastest man, Rasheed Saminu, has signed a three-year endorsement deal with leading Japanese sportswear brand ASICS, marking a major milestone in his athletics career.

The agreement runs retrospectively from October 2025 to December 2028, with an option to extend into 2029. As part of the partnership, ASICS will provide comprehensive support including travel expenses, physical therapy, and coaching allowances, easing the financial burden on the sprinter as he targets major international competitions.

The deal represents Saminu’s first official professional contract, coming on the back of a historic 2025 season that saw him break Ghana’s national 100m record. In July 2025, the 24-year-old clocked a sensational 9.84 seconds, cementing his status as one of Africa’s most exciting sprint prospects.

The timing of the endorsement is significant, arriving ahead of the World Relays in Botswana and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where Saminu is expected to play a key role for Team Ghana.

With strong backing from a global brand and a historic record already to his name, Saminu’s rise signals a promising future for Ghana athletics on the world stage.
