Palmer missed from barely four yards in front of a wide open net in the 95th minute to give Chelsea what would have been the winning goal in the club’s 2-2 draw with Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.
After scoring a penalty to register his fourth goal in two games after scoring a hat-trick in Chelsea’s win over Wolves in the prior game, the English playmaker had the chance to add to his tally but shockingly blazed the ball over the bar.
After allowing Leeds to cancel a two goal deficit, Malo Gusto and Moises Caicedo combined beautifully down Chelsea’s right side to set up Palmer for an easy tap-in finish only for the former Manchester City player to miss the golden winning goal chance and maximum points to a stunned crowd.
Chelsea full back Gusto was captured in the video ready to celebrate Palmer’s goal before collapsing to the turf in disbelief when the chance was missed.
