Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has directed striker Erling Haaland to rely on his instincts in front of goal and not try to force himself out of doing so.
He said this in a pre-game presser as Man City prepare to take on Fulham in the English Premier League on Wednesday, February 11 at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola’s message comes at a time Haaland has had some struggles converting chances in front of goal despite scoring 28 goals in 36 games in all competitions this season.
The Norwegian player scored in City’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield this past weekend and Guardiola praised Haaland for his execution while making the call for his striker to not feel too pressured.
“Anfield in the 91, 92 minutes, in the situation we have, taking it there, making this composure and his body language with his eyes with fire in that, it’s not easy.”

“That defines the good players. He takes a lot of responsibility on himself; he wants to help all the time.”

“As I said to him…Go there and rely on your instinct, rely on your movements, anticipate the actions like your instinct has better than anyone in the world” Pep Guardiola said of Erling Haaland.
