Ghana is set to compete in the World Cup later this year and has been drawn in Group L with England, Panama and Croatia. Competing in the upcoming competition will mark Ghana’s fifth time participating in the mundial.
Ahead of the competition, selection of members to the playing unit has generated a ton of interest particularly concerning former Black Stars captain Dede Ayew who is angling to become the first Ghanaian player to play at four World Cups.
After not competing in the first half of the 2025-2026 season, Ayew landed a six month deal with Dutch league side NAC Breda recently and has played the entire duration in the team’s last three games generating serious conversation about his potential inclusion in the team. Addressing the subject, Kofi Adams stated,
“I think he [Dede Ayew]’s picking up also. Once he hasn’t retired from international football, I won’t be surprised we see him in the team. I will not be surprised but that is the coach’s responsibility” to Adom FM.
