English Welterweight boxer Conor Benn has both praised and criticised American fighter Ryan Garcia for his impact on boxing.
Calling the WBC Welterweight champion “good” for the sport, Benn, who recently claimed a dominant victory over rival Chris Eubank Jr, also described Garcia as a liability in an interview with the BBC.
Benn made the comments ahead of his fight against Regis Prograis on April 11, serving as a co-main event on the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov card at Tottenham Stadium.
Ryan Garcia, returning from a year-long suspension for a drug violation, suffered a loss to Rolando Romero but bounced back with a notable win over Mario Barrios earlier this year, despite displaying controversial behaviour.

“I think Garcia’s good for the sport of boxing, I think he’s a character and he’s entertaining, but he’s also a liability” Benn said before touching on a potential fight with Gracia later this year by stating,

“You don’t know if he’s going to make the fight or not, have some sort of episode. You just don’t know.”
