Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak says his side will do everything possible to reach the 2025–26 UEFA Champions League final despite a difficult second-leg semifinal clash against Arsenal FC in London.

Oblak made the remarks in an interview with TNT Sports after Atlético’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal in Madrid, where both goals came from the penalty spot through Viktor Gyökeres and Julián Álvarez.

The match also saw Dutch referee Danny Makkelie overturn an Arsenal penalty following a VAR review, a decision that drew criticism from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

However, Oblak insists Atlético are focused on securing victory in the return leg and progressing to the final.

“We will not think about the previous game where we lost 4-0 there. I believe it will be a different game and we will do everything to get a good result and get to the final.”

“We don’t think about lifting the trophy, first we need to work on the pitch in the second leg. Arsenal want to win the Champions League as well so we need to pass them first” Oblak said.
