The Government of Ghana, through the Deputy Minister for Finance and Chairman of the Black Stars Fundraising Committee, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, has received significant financial support from corporate institutions and key stakeholders to aid preparations for the Ghana national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Leading the contributions, Engineers and Planners made a payment of US$2 million, part of their US$5 million pledge.

Timeline and Innovation also contributed GH₵100,000 toward the fund.

Additional donations came from key financial institutions, including First Bank (GH₵553,500), Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana (GH₵2,236,000), First Atlantic Bank (GH₵1,102,000), and the Petroleum Commission (GH₵500,000).

Speaking on the contribution, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Engineers and Planners, Ibrahim Mahama, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fulfilling its pledge, describing the support for the Black Stars as a contribution to national pride and unity.

Meanwhile, the Head of Monitoring at Timeline and Innovation, Pastor Dr Felix Osom Boafo, confirmed that the company had redeemed part of its pledge, noting that the amount forms part of a US$300,000 commitment toward supporting the team.

On behalf of the government and people of Ghana, Thomas Nyarko Ampem expressed profound appreciation to all contributors, describing the gesture as a strong demonstration of collective commitment to the success of the national team.

He further assured that the Committee will continue to engage stakeholders to mobilise adequate resources for the Black Stars’ World Cup campaign.
