Despite overseeing just 15 games as interim Manchester United head coach, Michael Carrick, surprisingly made the shortlist for the Manager of the Year Award for the 2025-2026 English Premier League season.
Carrick made the shortlist that has five other managers listed including managers of the title contenders Arsenal (Mikel Arteta) and Manchester City (Pep Guardiola).
Regis Le Bris of AFC Sunderland, Andoni Iraola of AFC Bournemouth and Keith Andrews of Brentford also made the shortlist.
Former Man United midfielder Carrick was appointed as interim head coach of Man United till the end of the season and managed to guide the Red Devils to secure qualification to the UEFA Champions League.
Man United need to win one of its final two league games to finish in third place in the season after enduring a turbulent campaign under former head coach Ruben Amorim.

At the time of Carrick’s appointment, Man United ranked seventh but have recorded the most points (33) in the league since Carrick’s appointment on January 13.
