Deputy Finance Minister and Chairman of the World Cup Fundraising Committee, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, has disclosed that the committee has received substantial financial support from corporate institutions as preparations intensify towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking during donation presentations on Wednesday, May 14,2026 Ampem confirmed that several companies had contributed millions of Ghana cedis to support the Black Stars’ campaign ahead of the tournament.

Leading the donations was Ghana Gas, which presented GHC5 million to the committee, while Ecobank Ghana also contributed GHC3 million.
ABSA Ghana donated GHC1 million, with Zijin Golden Ridge Limited making a contribution of GHC1.13 million towards the national team’s World Cup preparations.

OmniBSIC Bank also made a symbolic presentation of GHC250,000 to support the fundraising drive.
The donations form part of ongoing efforts by the World Cup Fundraising Committee to mobilise resources for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana secured qualification to the tournament after a strong qualifying campaign and is expected to continue preparations in the coming days as the country eyes another impressive showing on football’s biggest stage.
