Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey remains a major doubt for Ghana’s opening 2026 FIFA World Cup match against Panama, with ongoing legal proceedings yet to determine whether he will be available for selection.
The uncertainty comes as the Black Stars have already departed the United States for Canada ahead of Wednesday’s Group L opener.
Speaking on the issue, Citi FM/ Channel One Sports Journalist Godfred Akoto Boafo said the ongoing court proceedings have left the player’s immediate future with the national team unclear, adding that a final decision could have a significant impact on Ghana’s preparations for the tournament.
