England’s Three Lions take on Ghana in the second round of games in Group L at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup with both nations heading into the tie on the back of wins in the opening round.
Ghana beat Panama 1-0 while England beat Croatia 4-2 and the English are heavily favoured to win the tie but Carlos Queiroz is adamant his team will put up a strong fight against Thomas Tuchel’s side.
“My team in the last game played with resilience with discipline with only one thing in the mind and that is to fight for victory.”

“I have full confidence that the starting lineup…will be strong, enthusiastic, with a lot of motivation to get the results that we need to move forward” he said in a pre-game presser.

Ghana is aiming to qualify beyond the group phase since the 2010 World Cup.
