Basketball superstar LeBron James has agreed to sign for the Philadelphia Sixers ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 NBA Season.
The 41 year old announced his decision after a long wait in the NBA offseason following his exit from the Los Angeles Lakers.
LeBron has reportedly agreed to sign a two year deal with the Sixers that is worth eight million dollars in a move that is widely viewed as the closing chapter to his storied career.
The veteran forward stated that Philadelphia was his next destination in a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) page and indicated that his latest move was his last.
“This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family.”
“What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind.”
“I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship. I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time” LeBron said.
By joining the Sixers, he teams up with Jaylen Brown, All- Star Tyrese Maxey and former Most Valuable Player Award winner Joel Embiid.
