Veteran sports journalist Rosalind Amoh has called on players of Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team to apologise to the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, as the impasse between the two entities continues. [Scroll down to watch video]
The Black Queens and the Sports Ministry traded strong worded statements earlier this week over outstanding bonuses connected to the Queens’ campaign at the 2026 Women’s AFCON.
The Queens alleged that the Ministry owed them money but in a statement released by the Ministry on Kofi Adams’ X page, that allegation was refuted.
In response to the Sports Ministry’s statement, the Queens doubled down on their stance and pointed out that per diems owed them stemmed from July 11 (the day they opened camp) and not July 26 as stipulated by the Ministry.
Reacting to the development on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama, Rosalind Amoh, who has covered the Black Queens extensively, stated,
Transparency must always guide public service.
For the avoidance of doubt, Government does not owe the Black Queens any outstanding per diem. The records are clear and have been provided for public reference.
“Of course [they should apologise] especially for the second statement; you are now bantering the Minister in public? It is like being at home with your parents…your parents have promised to give you something, it has not happened yet and you go out and you tell the whole world.”

“From where we sit and per our culture, when you start exchanging [words] with somebody your superior in public, it is disrespectful” Rosalind Amoh said.
