For the second time in her career, American tennis player Coco Gauff has won the Cincinnati Open and puts her in great position to win a second US Open title.
Gauff won the 2026 Cincinnati Open after beating Jessica Pegula 6-2, 6-4 to clinch the title for the second time after winning the competition in 2023.
Her win comes ahead of the start of the 2026 US Open which commences on August 30.
Speaking after the win, Gauff sounded confident about her chances to win tough games in the upcoming tournament by stating,
“I think with each match, I was feeling more and more confident in trusting the work that I put in and the practice – knowing that I can figure out these matches.”

“It’s going to be tough in New York, but just knowing the quality wins that I had this week, knowing that I’m able to figure it out even if I’m not playing my best, but also knowing that I can play that great tennis that I felt like I was playing this week” Gauff said.
