The Ghana Football Association has reached an agreement with Carlos Queiroz for the Portuguese coach to continue as head coach of the Black Stars.
Queiroz’s previous mandate, which included leading Ghana at the just-concluded FIFA World Cup, ended a few weeks ago.
However, following discussions between the coach, the GFA and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the parties have agreed on a new coaching mandate.
The new arrangement will begin with the upcoming international window as Ghana prepares for the next phase of its programme.
The GFA says Queiroz’s extensive international experience, technical expertise and knowledge of the Black Stars were key factors in the decision to retain him.
The Portuguese coach has previously managed several national teams and top clubs around the world, bringing significant experience at the highest level of international football.
His immediate task will be to oversee the Black Stars as they begin preparations for their upcoming assignments, including the next phase of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
The GFA says further details about Queiroz’s new mandate and the Black Stars’ upcoming programme will be announced in due course.
The association and Queiroz will now turn their attention to building what they hope will be a successful new chapter for Ghana on the international stage.
