Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany insists his side is close to its best despite dropping points in their last two matches against Augsburg and Viking FK.
Bayern drew with Augsburg in the Bundesliga before being held by Viking FK in the UEFA Champions League, raising questions about their recent form.
Kompany made the remarks ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig on October 17, as the defending champions look to return to winning ways.
Bayern sit third in the league with 11 points, two behind leaders Freiburg, and will be eager to close the gap with a strong performance against Leipzig.
“There are a lot of things behind the perception of these two results. I have the feeling it is just before we show our very best version. In the last two matches we shot 50 times on goal. If we do a few things better then we are not too far from our very best version.”

“We are sharp and motivated… we look forward to these matches to measure ourselves against the best” Kompany said at a presser.
