Manchester City winger Antoine Semenyo could be sidelined for around eight weeks after sustaining a knee injury during Saturday’s 3–2 Premier League victory over Ipswich Town.
City head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed the expected recovery period after medical scans showed the injury was not as serious as the club had initially feared.
“After the scan, we feel much better because it’s not as bad as we expected,” Maresca said.
“It could be eight weeks, so now the most important thing is for him to recover.”
Semenyo sustained the injury during the win over Ipswich, adding to City’s fitness concerns following a match in which several players experienced injury problems.
Antoine Semenyo’s absence is a setback for Maresca, who has relied on the winger’s pace, direct running and attacking contribution during the opening weeks of the campaign

.
Semenyo joined City from Bournemouth in January 2026 and has established himself as an important attacking option. His performances have helped City maintain a strong start to the new Premier League season.
