LeBron James made an impressive debut for the Philadelphia 76ers, recording 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in 34 minutes as the Sixers beat the New York Knicks 106-100.
The 41-year-old, who joined the Sixers on a two-year deal this offseason, showed he can still make an impact at the highest level.
Tyrese Maxey led Philadelphia’s scoring with 28 points, while James contributed across the court, playing at centre and effectively defending New York’s Karl-Anthony Towns.
“Obviously, KAT (Karl-Anthony Towns) is very dangerous when he has space. I wanted to be there on the catch and not give him no airspace. … And Tyrese just playing center field was able to jump that and get that dunk.”

“That was a big momentum play. So just try to have that communication just at a high level” LeBron said.

The Knicks were presented with their championship rings before tip-off in front of a packed Madison Square Garden.
