“Dreams FC’s approach convinced me to join them”- Abel Manomey

New Dreams FC forward, Abel Manomey, says that the team’s approach was the key factor in his decision to sign for them in the second registration window of the Ghana Premier League.

Manomey’s switch was confirmed by Dreams FC on Easter Monday and they added that he had signed a two-year deal with the Dawu-based team.

Manomey joined as a free agent after he left Great Olympics in 2016 to pursue higher education at the University College of Winneba.

He played for the school in this year’s GUSA Games and topped the scorers chart with 10 goals to make him the competition’s all time top scorer with 39 in six GUSA Games.

He told Citi Sports that he was very pleased with what Dreams had to offer and thus, signing for them was the best decision for him.

“I think what made the difference was their approach. They saw that I could be important to their team at this time of the season and what they put on the table was also a factor.

However, I had to do a lot of consultation because I had already spoken to some clubs.

I had a verbal agreement with Great Olympics but after thinking about it, everyone agreed that I needed a change of environment and a fresh challenge and that was what changed everything.”

Fans of the team hope that Manomey’s goal scoring abilities will help them improve their scoring in the Ghana Premier League.

Before the league was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic in March, Dreams had scored only 10 goals in 15 matches played and they were 13th on the league log with 16 points.
