“Goods sold are not refundable” – Great Olympics jab Hearts of Oak over Gladson Awako saga

Accra Great Olympics never miss a chance to throw shots at rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on social media and in the wake of reports that Gladson Awako could be set for a sensational return to the Dade Boys just one month after joining Phobia, Olympics are making it clear there is no chance that will be happening.

The posted a cryptic message on twitter that read: “Goods sold are not returnable”, a not so subtle attempt at mocking the Phobians for their current saga with their former player.

Awako, 30, joined the Phobians for a reported $15,000 fee from Oly Dade with the hope to improve Samuel Boadu’s side ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

Despite joining the club last month, the U-20 World Cup winner has not played any game for them since his arrival with his agent, Yussif Chibsah, admitting his client will need to sit down with Hearts of Oak to thrash out some outstanding issues.

Speaking in an interview on Rainbow FM, the Chief Executive Officer of Great Olympics Oloboi Commodore said his outfit aren’t going to refund any money to Hearts of Oak despite the latest development that surrounds the departure of their then club captain.

“Awako is Hearts of Oak player. If he decides to leave the club, it’s his decision, not Olympics decision, we sold him to Accra Hearts of Oak, and I don’t think they (Hearts) can seek any money from us,” he said.

He added that if Accra Hearts of Oak want to return Awako to Olympics, they can negotiate.

“If Hearts think they can’t handle and don’t want him, we can have negotiations concerning his move back to Olympics,” he added.

Mr. Oloboi also stated that Accra Great Olympics are looking to bolster their squad and is confident the club can find a good replacement for their departed talisman.

”We are recruiting players which we think we can find a replacement for Awako. We are hoping to be better next season with the players we have,” he stated.
