Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association Chairman Ralphael Gyambrah has called on the Ghana government to put up a national stadium in the region hitherto known as Brong Ahafo.

He said this to Citi Sports on the sidelines of a press soiree for the 2023 All Star Festival.

This year’s edition runs from June 20 to June 22 in Sunyani and is expected to be headlined by Black Stars players Kasim Nuhu Adams, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Mohammed Kudus.

Tagging the region as the spiritual home of football in Ghana, Gyambrah tasked the relevant authorities to put up the edifice considering the immense level of talent and support base in the region.

“When we continue to put this narrative out there that we are the spiritual home of football and we’ve done so much for the development of the game, private entities and government may want to take a second look at the region and say maybe it’s time to put up an edifice to serve the people of the Brong Ahafo region.”

Four teams including Aduana Stars from the region are competing in the 2022-2023 BetPawa Ghana League while regional powerhouse Bofoakwa Tano recently qualified to the league for next season.
