Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Samuel Anim Addo, says he disagrees with New Edubiase FC President Abdul Salam Yakubu decision to storm out of the GFA Congress but declined to describe his walkout as an “incident”.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after the 29th Ordinary Congress Session of the GFA that was held in Kumasi.

At the congress, Yakubu stormed out of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Great Hall in the middle of GFA President Kurt Okraku’s speech.

Yakubu believes Kurt used the session as a campaign platform ahead of the GFA Elections slated for October this year.

However, according to Anim Addo, it is the legal right of the GFA President to make such a speech.

GFA ExCo Member Anim Addo

“I don’t see it as an incident I see it as a personal opinion. That’s his personal opinion, it is normal. You can’t have everybody agreeing to what you do but unfortunately for Yakubu, he knows that this is the platform for the President. It’s in our status to give a status and if he decides to give the speech and tell the whole world what he has done and what he wants to do, nobody can fault him for that and that is his duty.”

At the Congress, the Presidential nomination fee of 50,000 Ghana Cedis in the upcoming GFA Elections, was agreed on by Congress members.
