Head coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies Football Club, Joe Nana Adarkwa, has pegged the 2022-2023 season as marvelous for his team.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after Ampem Darkoa won the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League and FA Cup double and progression to the main competition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

For their efforts, Medeama swept the honours in the female category at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Awards with Adarkwa walking away with Coach of the Year award and Mary Amponsah winning the Player of the Year award.

“It’s (this past campaign) marvelous but it all boils down to hard work so am very very happy with what happened this evening” before touching on the successful African campaign that went better than the previous campaign.

“We got experience from what happened to us last year in Cote D’Ivoire so this time when we were going we (were thinking) never again” he said.

Ampem Darkoa has won back to back league titles and is gearing up for a third league title win in a row.
