Dreams Football Club Administrative Manager Ameenu Shardow has confessed his admiration for veteran forward John Antwi.

He revealed this in an interview on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama after Dreams FC beat Sierra Leone’s FC Kallon 2-1 in the first leg of a second round CAF Confederation Cup matchup.

John Antwi scored the winning goal from the penalty spot late in the 56th minute and Shardow praised the efforts of the 31 year old Takoradi native.

“John Antwi for me, in my entire football administration life, there are very few players that I regard as top notch, he falls in that category. It’s not only about his performance on the field of play; his general conduct…his discipline, his humbleness, his determination, he sets a very good example for the other players and I hope the other players are taking a big cue from John Antwi.

Am not surprised at all the kind of life he’s had in football…he is still eager to do more.”

Antwi has played for clubs extensively in Egypt after a brief career at Serkondi Eleven Wise.
