Ghana Premier League side Dreams Football Club has been drawn in Group C of the 2023-2024 CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
The draw, conducted earlier today in Johannesburg, South Africa had the MTN FA Cup champions drawn against Nigeria’s Rivers United, Tunisian side Club Africain and Angola’s APC Lobito.
Dreams progressed to the group stage of the tournament after getting past Guinea’s Milo FC and FC Kallon of Sierra Leone.
This is Dreams’ debut run in the CAF Confed Cup and the team has beaten expectations to get counted among the best 16 teams in Africa’s second tier competition.
Ghanaian defender Edwin Gyimah’s Sekhukhune United has been drawn in Group D with the South African side set to take on RS Berkane of Morocco, DR Congo’s Motema Pembe and Stade Malien of Mali.
Libya’s Al Hilal is in Group A with SuperSport United (South Africa), fellow Egyptian side Future FC and reigning champions USM Alger of Algeria.
2019 winners Zamalek of Egypt is in Group B with Sagrada Esperança of Angola, Guinea’s SOAR and Libyan club Abu Salim.
The tournament commences on November 26 and is due to end on March 3.
