Ghana’s Isaac “The Royal Storm” Dogboe lost to Nick Ball in a unanimous decision in a WBC featherweight bout in the United Kingdom.
The bout was a final eliminator for the WBC featherweight title, and Nick Ball won by commanding scores of 118-109, 119-108, and 116-111 making him the next in line for a WBC featherweight title shot.
Nick Ball had most of the control during the bout.
Dogboe was competitive in most of the rounds and appeared dangerous the entire time, but Ball was the better man and won, solidifying his ranking as one of the top 10 fighters in the world.
The WBC featherweight title belt is currently held by Rey Vargas, who hasn’t defended since beating Mark Magsayo for the belt in July 2022.
According to Nick Ball, he finds Isaac Dogboe a tough nut and must settle for beating him on points.
“I’m feeling good, it was a good performance from myself. I had to keep my cool in there and control the fight. I feel like I’ve just controlled that fight at the world level. I’ve just put myself in position (to fight for a world title).”Ball said.
