Ghana’s representatives in the 2023-2024 season CAF competitions have experienced contrasting fortunes in the latest round of games in the continental tournaments group stage.

In the CAF Champions League, Medeama Sporting Club suffered a 3-0 loss to Young Africans in Tanzania after playing out a 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in Ghana.

However, in the CAF Confederation Cup, Dreams FC delivered a brilliant performance to breeze past Angolan side Academica do Lobito via a 4-0 win at the aforementioned stadium.

Abdul Aziz Issah produced a sterling performance in the big Dreams FC win with a fine long range strike and assisting Tamko Nuhu’s goal in the 92nd minute for Dreams FC’s fourth goal.

With the big win, Dreams has taken up top spot in Group C with nine points from winning three straight games after suffering a 2-0 loss to Tunisia side Club Africain. Dreams and Academica have played a game more than Club Africain and Nigeria’s Rivers United.

In Tanzania, Medeama conceded a Pacome Zouzoua goal in the 33rd minute and conceded two more in the second half to slump to the bottom of Group D.

Medeama has amassed four points from four games and has played a game more than Egypt’s Al-Ahly and Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.

Striker Jonathan Sowah was shown a second yellow card and exited the game in the 90th minute summing up a poor outing that had him miss a penalty kick in the 55th minute.
