Chief Executive Officer of Tano Bofoakwa , Alexander Ababio, has emphasized the need to stay in the Ghana Premier league by stating that he prioritizes this over winning the MTN FA Cup and competing in the CAF Inter club competition.

The Sunyani based club are ranked 11th on the league log, with just a point above FA cup defending champions Dreams FC who have four outstanding games due to their participation in the MTN FA Cup .

In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Ababio highlighted the need to win the rest of their matches to maintain their status in the Ghana Premier league.

“Right now for me, if I’m to choose, I would choose staying in the league for now but all said and then, we prepare match after match. We are hoping that we will be able to achieve this premier league status and be able to maintain it, that’s our ultimate goal for now.”

Bofoakwa Tano CEO Albert Ababio

“With Nsoatreman, I hope will be able to beat them. Ever since we came into the premiership, we have played two matches and all ended in draw. Though we were able to beat Dreams FC, we won’t be complacent that we were able eliminate them.”

This is going to be a local derby and we will prepare well to beat them.”

Bofoakwa Tano head coach John Eduafo

The final of the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup is scheduled for June 23 ,2024 at the University of Ghana Stadium. Bofoakwa Tano play their next Ghana Premier League game against Samartex 1996 at the Nsenkyire sports Complex in Samreboi.
