Blow Chem Industries has entered into an agreement with the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to become the main sponsor of the professional boxing league.
Blow Chem Ghana signed a long-term deal, the terms of which have not been disclosed, to have their Bel 7Star energy drink take the lead sponsorship role for the league’s third season.
The announcement was made at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
As a result of this partnership, the competition will now be known as the Bel 7Star Boxing Professional League.
Bel 7Star is taking over from De-Luxy Paint, which was the headline sponsor during the league’s inaugural season.
At the unveiling event, Mr. Magnus Dey, the Head of Marketing for Blow Chem, explained the reasons behind their collaboration with the Ghana Boxing Authority.
“Boxing to us is just not a sport. It’s more like a cultural heritage which needs to be reserved and especially for the people of Bukom who are passionate about our boxing,” he said.
“As a brand that is committed to community development, we took it upon ourselves to support this prolific sport and boost the confidence of our local fight, give them the opportunity they need to showcase their skills and determination and a national scale.”
Abraham Kotei Neequaye, President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, praised Blow Group of Companies for their decision to become the headline sponsor.
“For Bel 7Star coming on board, we are very happy and we know we are going to build on this relationship,” he said.
“We know next year they will still be with us because we will continue the league. We have done the season one and two and this is the third season we are doing now.”
