Ghanaian swimmer Harry Stacey says he is excited to be at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and can’t wait to get out there and compete.
He said this in interview with the Ghana Olympic Committee contingent in Paris ahead of his heat in the Men’s 100 Metre Freestyle event on Tuesday, July 30 at 9:15 GMT.
Stacey is the first Ghanaian athlete at this year’s Olympics to compete with the likes of Rose Yeboah and Benjamin Azamati set to compete in Women’s high jump and the Men’s 100 Metre heat on August 2 and August 3 respectively.
As one of only two Ghanaian swimmers at the competition, Stacey stated that he feels amazing in the lead up to the race.
“I’m so excited and honestly I can’t wait to get out there. (I feel) Amazing. Honestly, yeah I just can’t wait honestly I’m very excited to get out there and do my best. I know my place and I want to try and usurp some people, get faster, get a personal best if possible, yeah I’m just going to go out there and do my best.”

Joselle Mensah, Ghana’s second swimmer in this year’s Olympics, will compete in the Women’s 50 Metre Freestyle heat on August 3.
