Hasaacas Ladies Football Club assistant head coach, Emmanuel Kwesi Mensah, is far from satisfied with the outcome of his team’s opening game in the qualifiers to the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Sekondi based team played out a goalless draw against Burkina Faso’s Omnisport in Group B in this year’s WAFU Zone B qualifiers to the continental championship.
Hasaacas Ladies are aiming to replicate the kind of form that got them to finish in second place at the main competition after losing to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
Speaking in an interview after the game, Mensah, pointed out that the result was below the standard of the team.
“The 0-0 for Hasaacas standard for me, is not the best. For me, it’s not the best because we’ve once been to this championship before and so the expectations were very high but looking at how our opponents played, I think that it was a fair result.”
“They had even more chances than us, they were doing a lot of counter attacks and that really helped them. For me, we played a very tactically disciplined side and very disappointed with the 0-0 but per how the game went, I’m okay.”
