Ghana Swimming Association President Delphina Quaye has given a satisfactory description of Ghana’s swimmers who competed in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Harry Stacey competed in the Men’s 100 Metre Freestyle and Joselle Mensah competed in the Women’s 50 Metre Freestyle at the Paris Games.
However, both swimmers missed out on progressing to the semifinal stage; Team Ghana missed out on having a representative in the final of any event at the Olympic Games but President Quaye had a positive response to the swimmers performances.
“I was okay with their performance. This is their first attempt and I think they’ve done the best that they could. I think they did well overall. More competitions internationally, Africa competitions, world competitions; that’s the best way to go because the more they compete against their peers from other countries, the more confident they become and the more they are able to do their best in other competitions.”

Ghana had eight athletes at the Paris Olympics including Mensah and Stacey but missed out on winning a medal.
