Ghana’s representative in the 2024-2025 CAF Confederation Cup season, Nsoatreman FC, face a daunting challenge in its quest to progress to the third round of the competition.
Nsoatreman lost 2-0 to Algeria’s CS Constantine at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the tie with the second leg slated to take place in Algeria on Saturday, September 21 at 19:00 GMT.
A brace from Constantine’s Algerian forward Zakaria Benchaa in the 11th minute and 27th minute settled the tie with Benjamin Tsivanyo shooting past the post in the 65th minute as Nsoatreman searched for a goal.
Despite Nsoatreman head coach Yaw Preko’s wariness of Constantine’s threat in his pre-game presser where he stated, “I strongly believe they will come at us and we have to be ready for it”, Nsoatreman were decked by two quick goals in the first half.
Ghana’s other representative in the CAF competitions-FC Samartex- take on Morocco’s Raja Casablanca on Sunday, September 15 at the Accra Stadium at 17:00 GMT.
