GFA is the most transparent sporting entity in Ghana- Kurt Okraku

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has labelled his outfit as the most transparent entity in Ghana’s sports fraternity.

He said this when he appeared before a Parliamentary Select Committee for Sports, Culture and Tourism hearing headlining Day Three of the event. Former GFA Technical Director Francis Oti Akenteng appeared before the Committee on Day Three.

Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif headlined Day One of the hearing where he stated that Ghana’s contingent at the 2023 AFCON spent three million dollars at the tournament despite exiting at the group stage. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Day Two had the National Sports Authority (NSA) appear before the Committee that is chaired by Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency, Wisdom Mensah Woyome.

NSA Board Chair, Seth Panwum, disclosed that the Accra Sports Stadium will be ready to host the Black Stars 2025 AFCON qualifier against Sudan on October 11. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

In his address, Kurt Okraku vehemently defended the presence of Management Committees for Ghana’s National Football Teams despite each  member of the Black Stars Management Committee reportedly making as much as $100,000 at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. “Our books are public, been audited by CAF five years continuous, been audited by FIFA five years continuous. We are the most transparent sporting entity you can think about in Ghana. We work closely with the Ministry of Youth and Sports on all fronts as far as National Team engagements are concerned.”
