Former Chelsea Football Club head coach, Graham Potter, has praised Ghana’s Antoine Semenyo for his development into a very productive English Premier League player.
Potter said this in his post game analysis as a pundit after watching the Black Stars player score his third goal in six league games this season as Bournemouth beat Southampton 3-1 at the Vitality Stadium.
Semenyo scored Bournemouth’s third by jinxing his way through Southampton’s defence before rifling a crisp shot into the bottom right corner of the net. The goal marked Semenyo’s fourth goal contribution for Bournemouth this season in the league.
After drawing praise from football pundit Jamie Redknapp a couple of weeks ago, Semenyo’s fine start to the 2024-2025 campaign drew similar high remarks from Graham Potter. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“It’s a great story. It’s really nice to hear that path that he’s been on. As I said before, he’s had his ups and downs , he’s had to maybe suffer in the lower leagues…he just kept going and kept going and it’s a great story for any player.”
“He’s obviously had the talent; the trick is to find the right pathway and everybody’s pathway is slightly different…Now he arrives in the Premier League in sort of a humble way. Appreciative of what he’s got now and appreciative of the journey he’s been on.”
