Spintex Knights Basketball Club co-founder Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi has revealed that the club is still dealing with financial issues despite completing the preliminary round of the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after Spintex Knights qualified to the Elite 16 stage of the continental championship by finishing second in Group B of the West Division. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The Elite 16 stage will take place in Cote D’Ivoire from November 5 to November 10 with the top four teams progressing to compete in the main NBA run BAL tournament.

“We are still in the process of trying to even pay out some of our clients with respect to flights and even in Libya with respect to hotel and feeding. As I speak to you now, we are supposed to pay the people in Libya about $8,000 that we are trying to make sure we pay before our contingent leaves that place.”

Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi, Co Founder of Spintex Knights

Knights swingman James Amotoe starred in the tournament after averaging 25.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists across three games.
